IONODES CEO Eric Tasso to Lead SIA Education Session Exploring Real-Time Crime Center Benefits and Adoption Barriers at ISC East 2024

The New York City event on Nov 20th brings together industry experts for an in-depth discussion of Real-Time Crime Centers (RTCCs)

New York, NY, November 5, 2024 – IONODES, a leading provider of connected IoT video solutions, announced today that IONODES CEO Eric Tasso will lead “The Emerging RTCC: Balancing Privacy Concerns vs. The Public Good” a SIA Education Session at ISC East on November 19 at the Javits Center in New York City. Atlantic City Chief of Police James Sarkos and Capital One Arena Director of Venue Security Sylvester Servance will join for an open and candid discussion of public safety challenges and the promise and pitfalls of Real-Time Crime Centers (RTCCs). The 45-minute session takes place at 3:00pm (room 1A08) and includes an interactive Q&A with session attendees.

Investments in Real-Time Crime Centers are on the rise, transforming public safety with enhanced situational awareness, optimized resource allocation, and measurable crime reduction. The session will define RTCCs, explore their benefits and explosive growth while addressing privacy concerns, technology advancements, and future outlook. Open to ISC East attendees, the roundtable presents a unique opportunity to hear both law enforcement and private sector perspectives on public safety issues and learn how RTCCs are protecting citizens and preventing crime in new, more effective and efficient ways.

Prior to assuming leadership of the Atlantic City Police Department, Chief James Sarkos commanded the Investigations Division, Information and Technology Unit and Emergency Response Team as well as managed several Atlantic City Police Department public safety initiatives. With more than 20 years of experience directing large-scale security operations across high-profile organizations, Sylvester Servance leads physical security at the home of the Washington Capitals and Wizards and held similar roles with the Washington Nationals and Seattle Mariners.

Since 2010, Eric Tasso has led the strategic direction and technical vision at IONODES, a connected video innovator focused on open platform video solutions. In addition to senior roles at Verint and Smartsight Networks, Eric has overseen teams and created solutions for some of the world’s leading institutions, including Fortune 500 companies and government agencies across North America, EMEA and LATAM.

“An open dialog around how RTCCs can benefit law enforcement, private businesses and communities at large while protecting privacy and data security is essential to overcoming barriers to adoption,” said IONODES CEO Eric Tasso. “We’re fortunate to have leading public safety experts share their experience with Real-Time Crime Centers and explore not only how they are being used today but what the future holds in terms of technology innovations and their positive effect on citizens.”
